Meet Our Staff


Our Founder
    Monika Lesch, OTR/L (registered and licensed occupational therapist) has over three decades of exerience in pediatric occupational therapy, including twelve in North Carolina public schools. She has expertise in the treatment of babies, children, young adults with sensory processing challenges and neuromotor disorders. Monika is certified to administer the Sensory Integration and Praxis Test (SIPT). Her experience includes extensive work with sensory integration and sensory processing challenges. She is also certified in Neuro Developmental Therapy (NDT), a treatment technique typically used for children with a diagnosis of cerebral palsy. Additional areas of training include oral motor intervention and eating challenges, sound therapy (SAMONAS), play therapy (Greenspan floor time approach), cranial sacral therapy, myofacial release, visual therapy, and Brain Gym. As a certified yoga instructor, Monika includes yoga in her practice with children.  Currently she is pursuing Chen Style Tai Chi Chuan.

Office Manager
Leslie Hawkins
Leslie's responsibilities include, patient intake and enrollment procedures, Medicaid and Private Insurance billing and questions, and general administrative duties.  Should you need her assistance with these or any other matters, she is available at our Morganton location, Monday thru Friday 9am-5pm.

Mary Woods, COTA/L
Passionate and committed to working with children for the past 25 years. 
Experience includes: North Carolina public schools Exceptional Childrens classroom assistant, and aid to Occupational Therapy department prior to completing associate degree in occupation therapy. 
In addition, Mary holds an Advance Certificate in Assistive Technology.  
Primary focus is on neurologically involved children and
young children with sensory needs.
Other skills: assistive technology, adapting equipment and access to computers.

 

Jennifer Triplett , COTA/L
With 32 years of experience working with children in a wide range of disabilities in the North Carolina School for the Deaf, Jennifer is a graduate of Caldwell Community College with an Associate of Science degree majoring in
Occupational Therapy.
Attends continuing education training in the areas of sensory integration, vision therapy, autism spectrum disorders, aquatic therapy, oral motor and brain boosters.
